WOW...what a game!!!

I have never been to such an exciting game in all of my life! Last night, Anthony played against a Bridgeport team. The game started out fast with our pitcher striking out 3 of the first 4 batters.
Then it was our turn...same thing. This went on for quite awhile. At 7:00 we were already in the 6th inning. We all thought...great, we'll get home early tonight. Wrong!! At the end of the 7th we were still tied at 0-0. Now the extra innings began. By the 12th inning we were still tied at 0-0.
Bottom of the 12th...Anthony hits a hard grounder to right field...he's safe at first. He successfully steals second and then third. There's only one out. He's just waiting to be hit in (he's known for stealing home). He takes a big lead. A squeeze play is called...his best friend is up to bat...here's the pitch...Anthony takes a bigger lead...he's only steps away from home plate...the batter misses the ball (it's his third strike)...Anthony is next to the catcher and gets out. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!! The 13th inning still no score! Top of the 14th the pitcher is still doing great...gets a couple of strike outs. There's a boy on 2nd...he's stealing to 3rd (Anthony's base)...the catcher gets the pitch...throws to Anthony...the boy is OUT! Now it's our turn at bat. First batter...strikes out...second batter...grounds out...third batter gets a walk. This is another of Anthony's best friends (Nick). Now Anthony is up to bat...Nick steals 2nd and then third. Anthony has a FULL count! Can you say nervous?! The pitch comes in...Anthony hit a high pop right past the 2nd baseman. The ball is in the air...it's coming to the glove...the boy misses it! Nick crosses home plate and Anthony is on second...We WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow...what a game!
What was my favorite part of the game you ask? My favorite was after the dust settled and the congratulations were made and we were on our way home. Anthony told me that during the 14th inning he started to pray. He asked God for a win. At bat he prayed again and asked God for a hit so he could glorify Him. He gave all the credit to God! I am so proud of him. Yes he is talented but he wouldn't be half the man he is becoming without Christ. As you can tell...I am one very proud mom.

Ride 'em cowboy!

So I woke up this morning to a phone call. It was my mom saying that my dad is sick with the flu, so my sister, her family, and my nephew Andy are coming to my house for the day. My first thought was great! I usually have to meet them at my parents home...it was nice to entertain them in my home. The next thought was...what am I going to feed them all??? No problem...we ordered pizza (way to much!). Any way it was a really nice visit. We all attended church together and then hung out at my house. My niece took Andy outside for just a minute and then tried to bring him back in...hahahah This is when I thought of the horse. Man did he like it! He bounced so high...we had to catch him a few times. This was the first day we didn't have rain but it was a little chilly, yet we all stood on the porch watching Andy ride the horse. It's amazing what babies can make a group of adults do:-)

As you can see...he had a great time! I think he stayed on that horse for half an hour. Thanks to Andy and his horse ride...we all got some fresh air that we needed after all this rain.

We did have some other comic relief...my other nephew. Here... is how he decided he looked good in his new shorts. Thanks for the laugh! I love college students!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAH

As you can see...we had a GREAT day! I thank God for my family...each and everyone of them.
Hopefully the gas prices will drop so we can see each other even more over the summer.

Are we there yet?

Remember asking that question only to be yelled at? I sure do. Now I find myself asking that same question about summer vacation. This school year has gone by quickly but I am so ready for it to be over! Since I work in the schools...the kids are rubbing off on me. The children have officially lost their minds. They are zoning out, fighting, and full of drama! They are making me crazy!!!! I need the sun and the beach and my pool. Our vacation can't come soon enough. No friends are traveling with us...just the family. I can't wait. I think for the first couple of weeks after school...I'll avoid the phone and computer and try to be as incognito as possible at the ball games.
I love what I do and all the kids I work with but ....I am burnt, crispy fried and need a break. The kids are just kids and I love them but their emotions are on overload. The adults I work with are another story. There are a few who I need not see for several months! Maybe they will mature over the summer also...hopefully. Oh well...summer is just around the corner and I couldn't be happier. Sunshine wishes and peaceful dreams!
