Paging Dr. Doolittle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I really need to talk with Dr. Doolittle. Animals have an obsession with my car...especially in the mornings. Most mornings I have suicidal birds that dive in front of my car and scare the daylights out of me. Thankfully I usually don't hit them. This morning was different. As I drove Anthony to lifting I noticed that a cow was out of its pasture and eating in someone's front yard...we laughed and figured that they notified the farmer for help. Wrong! On my way home from dropping Anthony off...There were two baby deer standing in the road. I had to stop and honk for them to move. All went well. Further up the road I see a cow running toward me in the opposite lane! I stopped (can you imagine the damage it could do?!). It runs in front of my car and stands on the side of the road. I proceed, with caution, and it starts to race me! I stop...it stops. I start to drive and it again begins to race me but then suddenly jumps the guardrail! It's leg got stuck but then it got over with no problem. What the heck! I bet none of you can say you raced a cow! haha
I think I need to spray my car with animal repellent! lol

Not bored anymore!

Well, the kids are back home...yeah!!!!!!! They were away for 6 days and 5 nights. That was the longest we have been away from either of them...since birth. It didn't take long to jump right back into the hustle bustle world of kids. Dominic was called to play in some baseball tournaments so we have been running to practice every day for 3-4 hours! Anthony's social life is that of a Rock Stars...LOL...seriously. The other night, I dropped him off at a friends house for a get-together and I proceeded on to my parents home. Within 10 minutes of be being there the phone rings..."mom, what are you doing? Do you think you could take me to see grandma and then bring me back here?" I knew something was wrong...then it hit me...I knew he wanted his grandma because she is a nurse. I said "what did you do?!". He caught his finger in pellet gun while cocking it. It ripped the skin and left a big hole in the webbing of his thumb. Needless to say...grandma checked it and recommended stitches...off to the ER we went. One hour and four stitches later...he was back at the party, looking for sympathy from the girls.
This isn't a great picture but you can see enough of it. How's that for a "welcome back!"?

Kidless in Bellaire

Have you ever thought what you would do if you didn't have to run your children around town? So have I and I can list many things that I would do...but, turns out I don't know what to do. My boys are in Columbus visiting my sister and her kids and Todd is working...so that leaves me here by myself. Sure a few hours of peace and quiet is nice but not days of it! I don't know what to do with myself! My friends are either working or dealing with their children, my mom still works full time, and I'm off work for most of the summer. Sounds great? It is but...I'm lonely! Sure I could clean the house and no one would mess it up...but...I hate to clean! lol
I guess it's true that "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone". I don't know how people live by themselves and I can't imagine never having kids. It won't be long until their back and probably on my nerves (haha) but for now...I sure do miss them. They are off having fun and so I am happy for them. So, if your reading this and your kid is nearby...laughing, screaming, or nagging...just think...what a wonderful sound!

Does anyone talk anymore?

What is going on with this world? Don't people talk anymore? Seriously. With today's modern technology we rarely have to speak to anyone. Between e-mail, instant messaging, and texting our phones are rarely used. I have been ranting about this for awhile now. The icing on the cake for me was yesterday when I discovered that my son, who has a subscription for 1500 text messages a month, was 800 over that and has 2 weeks left in the month!!!!! Here's the kicker...he only used 57 minutes of talk time and over 2,300 text messages. It's a phone! Why don't they talk??????????
Don't get me wrong...I love technology. Like this blog allows me to stay in touch and so does e-mail, but I write in sentences and paragraphs not text lingo. I also pick up the phone and call people and talk to random people while I'm out shopping. The kids now days have their faces shoved in the cell phone typing their little thumbs off! I won't be surprised when people are texting their vowels to one another! People text like crazy but put them in a room together and they act like they don't know each other. I even had one girl tell me that she sat on the couch next to her friend, no one else was there, and they texted each other! WTF?! Am I old and out of touch? Whatever...I just needed to vent.
